I titled my blog "Standing Firm" based on Isaiah 7:9b "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all." This has been one of my favorite verses for many years. We will see how this blog goes, but enjoy.
God was showing Ahaz the seriousness of the warning He was giving him. Without our faith, we are nothing. Without God, we are nothing. Isaiah goes on to proclaim that "the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel." (Isaiah 7:14 NIV)
We are given prophecy through Isaiah that Jesus would come and he did. He came to earth, 100% God and 100% Man, to die for our sins, of which we do not deserve. All he asks is that we stand firm in him. Stand firm in Jesus Christ, or we will not stand at all. Without Jesus there is nothing. There is no purpose. There is no life. There is only death without Jesus. But with Jesus, with faith in Jesus, we will live forever with him.
We are ever blessed to have life, eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, who lives and reigns with the one true God. Now and forever. Amen.
